Neolithic Farmers & Viking Invaders

The islands are steeped in history and Mulag House is no exception. The name Mulag is from the Old Norse name Múli, which describes its geographical location. The house was originally the game keepers cottage for Ardvourlie Castle whilst The Mission House was a place to meet and worship for local villagers. Glimpses of the past can be seen around the property.

Juliette

Exceptional ❤️ Our best BnB in Scotland! Amanda is very attentive. Breakfast is very good and adapts to your preferences. The room is very comfortable and clean, with private bathroom. Tea, coffee and treats on a tray in your room. Lounge available with stunning views of the Loch. Amanda advised us very well on places to see on the island. We had to leave early to catch the ferry (6 a.m.) and Amanda left us a fruit salad before we left.
Everything was perfect for enjoying this island! Thanks again!

Paul

Mulag House was exceptional! Very comfortable room, delicious breakfasts with amazing views over the loch. Great location for exploring Harris and Lewis. Amanda and Paul were great hosts, with lots of recommendations for things to do, as well as interesting insights into life on the islands! Also a handy EV charger at the top of the lane!! We’ll definitely be back and would highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay at Mulag House. Amanda was an amazing host: the check-in was uncomplicated, she always responded quickly and had many great recommendations. The place itself is spectacular! You get to stay right next to the loch and can take a walk around it’s shores. The breakfast that is included with the room was absolutely delicious. We had an amazing time and felt right at home. Would go again anytime.
